Yellowstone – Day 4 – The Falls and a Teepee

Grand Prismatic was first along the way and there is two places to view it. Either you park in the parking lot or along the road and take the boardwalk to walk right up to it, or you walk a little farther to the Fairy Falls Trail parking lot and view it from above. Both areas were really full so we decided to move on to Old Faithful.
We start the ascent up Beartooth. Red Lodge’s elevation is 5,568 feet so we begin our one mile vertical climb to 10,987 feet at the top of the pass.
I remember going to Yellowstone back when I was a teenager. I hadn’t been there in over 25 years but I loved the beauty of the mountains and the bit of mystery that surrounds the hot springs and geysers of Yellowstone. I had always known it was a place I wanted to take my kids some day
