Chair Hopping
Today was an interesting day so a little bit more writing today. I woke up early, around 7am and it was just me this day. More people had caught on once again regarding saving chairs as there was even less to choose from. I scanned the back row that we had the first two sea days and there were none that had four together so I wound up taking a row facing the pool this time, saving four chairs. Some people were saving two and there were chairs with towels draped over but no one was sitting there holding them.
As I sat there I listened to some people talk. Captain Ron showed up with his big booming voice but I didn’t listen too hard as to what he was saying. There were however two other guys that seemed like they had met each other while on the cruise. The one guy talked in a southern drawl but had a loud voice. It was funny because the other guy seemed to know the one had a loud voice so it seemed like the other talked softer to make up for it. Anyway, at one point all I heard in a loud southern drawl, “I didn’t know in Aruba you have to pay to take a piss!” Well thanks for that and letting everyone know what you were thinking.
While I was sitting there I overheard people talking about chair hogs and people getting their stuff removed. Well, it was only then did I look back on one of my chairs and noticed a worker had slipped past and put a sticker on them noting the time and that there was no one sitting on them and how the stuff would be removed in an hour.
So I removed the stickers and tried sending a message that I need people to get up here cause they are tagging chairs. Linda responds, “Well isn’t Chris up there with you?” I was confused by that remark but after sitting there a while I thought, “maybe I should see if he is sitting in one of the chairs.” Sure enough, Chris said he was up at 6am already and had reserved our favorite spots.
Others did start showing up to sit with us on the back of the ship

As we sat there, we noticed chairs to our left never had anyone sit in them all morning. They finally got stickers put on them late and with maybe 20 minutes to go, they finally showed up…I think it was almost 11am by this point.

But it was another beautiful day at sea.
Deal…Or No Deal….Part 2
I mentioned on the morning we stopped in Aruba we started the day by playing Deal or No Deal. To get an idea on how that was played, go check out that day’s blog HERE. We play the first round, neither of us get picked to go up. A few of us had matches, I think perhaps Leighton may have won a bingo package that time around and maybe Ella as well.
The second contestant that went up however turned interesting. Ella was getting matches on her card. So we would look at her card and what match she needed and what cases were not opened yet with the contestant on stage. So we would yell out the case we wanted open in hopes that it would match Ella’s. Chris however, just kept yelling in a loud, weird voice, “ELEVEN!” to which this just became something the kids would just yell randomly the rest of the cruise and even afterwards. It would make Sophie laugh every time. It came down to the last two cases and if Ella matched one more she would win $200 in on board credit.

The contestant on stage had picked case number 3 as her case. As I said, there were two cases left, hers (Case #3) and one other one. The amounts left on the board were $10 and the big $1,000 one. Banker calls in with an offer of $464 dollars and we are all in agreement you have to take the deal cause if you are wrong, you only wind up with $10. To our amazement, she said “NO DEAL”.
Well, that actually made it way more exciting for us. The lady decided not to switch cases. Ella needed the lady’s Case #3 to have $10 in it because then it would match hers and Ella would win $200. So at this point we are openly cheering for this lady to lose because then we win. Sure enough, they open her case, it has $10, everyone else in the theater is sad and going “awww” and we are in the back screaming because Ella won $200. People were probably wondering what the heck is wrong with us.
More Games
We came back to tell everyone about our Deal or No Deal adventure and then we went up to play more Cornhole. Again, Chris and I won in 3 sets. Most of us went different directions for food. I went to get 5 Guys again and brought back an extra thinking that’s maybe what others would want (I think I had 2 or 3 burgers on my plate). Heather wanted sauce so she went back for that. After we ate us four went to the Pub to play more games while Heather and Linda went to the shops
Eventually the wives came to join us and we had bucket of beers and daiquiris. We also found out that Linda won champagne while they were up at the shops. While we were there, the two father/son mafia looking guys were playing foosball. Most of the time they were straight faced but we did see the dad smile a little this day. There was also a family playing foosball on another table, the dad was a scrawny looking guy to which at one point Heather heard him say, “Not bad for a band geek” and he absolutely had the look of a band geek so it made us laugh. This guy may have had cerebral palsy or something but we also always saw him with a drink in his hand so we were never quite clear why he always walked the way he did.
There would also be a big guy with a flamingo and machine gun shirt and a deep voice who eventually went to get some dust for the shuffle board table at the bar(we didn’t know we could ask for that at the bar). He came back and told the people playing at one of the tables, (again in a deep voice), “It’s drrryyyy as Fucck! Use this and it will change the game” It was just more amusement to us.
I think this was also the day the 1s and the boys that were following them around all cruise came to play games as well. Sophie’s friend Gavin also showed up so it was fun to be there this afternoon.
Finally, one last funny people watching story, and this actually happened early in the day, like before noon. A lady got on the elevator with Sophie, Kate, Linda, and Heather. She got in, her hands full of desserts, along with a drink in her swimsuit, apparently a bit of a mess, and she says to them, “Hold the elevator………..I have a fork in my vagina!” She was rambling on and on and about how she had all this stuff and putting stuff in places and Linda said, “Well you do what you gotta do.” She then bends down a bit and gets close to Heather and says, “Do you believe I have to go all the way to the Fucking Family Harbor?” When the doors open, as she is half-crying, “Oh my God, I have to figure out which way to go” and Heather says, “Well, this side of the ship is even” and the lady says half-crying, “Oh my God, you even know which side of the ship I am on” Heather said it was the longest elevator ride ever. Sophie did say she had another run in with her earlier in the cruise and she was a drunken mess then too.
Evening
So it’s getting late in the day and some start to go down and get ready as it is another elegant night. I wanted to go listen to the steel drums for a bit and so I relaxed up on 12 by the pool.

Off in the distance, you could see the Dominican Republic.

So we all got dressed up and the kids as usual all looked very nice.

For some reason the back drops on the stairs were always nice and the best places to take pictures.
Tonight was also Feast Night at the dining area so that meant steak and shrimp and all the good stuff. So some of us would order a couple of entrées to eat and indulge ourselves a little more. Leighton was not passing up this opportunity.

Sophie and Kate tried some interesting appetizer to which Sophie never finished. You can tell in the picture, she’s not too sure about it.

Tonight the theater they were performing the one I was looking forward to, FLICK. This one is all movie themed songs from James Bond, to Star Wars, Top Gun, and even Titanic which I thought was odd being on a ship. This was an awesome show with lasers, fans that would blow scarves and balloons and suspend them in the air. All very well done.
We went to the 18+ comedy. It was the Puerto Rican guy again and I didn’t think it was as good. Of course he had the old lady heckler again, Virginia off in the corner that I think threw him off as well. Many people clapped when the guy said, “Normally in other places, hecklers get kicked out.” You would have thought that would have been a big enormous hint to her but it seemed like she was not catching on.
It was also 80’s Rock – N – Glow party on the lido.

They played some great music again and we all danced and had a good time. We were up there a little too late as they had handed out glow sticks and wands so we did not get any of those.

But of course we all had a good time once again. We were a little scattered this night as Ally and Kaitlyn were somewhere towards the back of the crowd.

Even the mafia was enjoying the night. Sort of blurry though. Kind of like bigfoot. Have to keep their identity a secret.

Today was also Kate’s 16th birthday. We took the non-alcoholic champagne Linda had won earlier and toasted Kate.

And also another great cruise.

By this point the 1s were off at the club so we never saw them. We began to scheme how to get Leighton into the club. We thought if we create a diversion, Chris and I will do the butt “Fireball” bongo thing and the rest go in. Somehow we then got onto what was in the cabinet beside me and how suddenly the door would fling open and all the people from the Phillipines that were working on the ship would come out and begin to quickly clean the deck and go back in the cabinet…like Umpa Lumpas. No disrespect to anyone, we were all just having some good big laughs tonight together.
Sorry for lack of photos this day, just more to write about then anything.
